This and That

Hey stampers! I received my this and That bundle from Stampin' Up last week and have just been looking at it and thinking, "what am I going to put in it????".  It's such cool paper and stickers I need to do something really cool with it. I will let you know when I figure that out! I don't want to horde it like I do with lots of paper and ribbon....(you understand right??).

I thought I would try a card first and then go from there. I used the paper and washi tape from the kit. I LOVE the washi tape. Am soooo glad that SU finally got into that. I have seen a sneak peek of some more and it's delicious! I also did my sentiment with the cool rotary stamp that comes with it. The colors are gumball green, calypso coral, and whisper white. The stamp is one of the single stamps called Spectacular. I covered the bottom pair of glasses with some tape and inked the rest in basic gray. I colored the uninked pair with calypso coral marker. I added some dazzling details for some sparkle.

My embellishment is more washi tape and a smashed small bottle cap. These are too cute and have a lot of uses. I made a necklace with the larger one but that's for another day. I added a circle of cs and a clear button with twine. The sentiment is die cut with the bitty banners framelit.  I also used a few embossing folders, chevron and the border one is from the Spring mini, I can't remember name right now!

Hope you enjoyed my card. I will be back tomorrow with another!

Noah's Ark Card

Hey stampers! I had colored this image about a month or so ago using my aqua painter and my ink pads. I just thought this was the most adorable image for a baby card. I finally decided to do something with it. My friend had a baby girl and I need to send her a gift so perfect time to make this card.

The colors are pool party and calypso coral and the DSP and ribbon was from Salebration called sycamore street. I used the floral framelits to make the card and all of the layers. I used the Oh Whale clearlit for the anchor.  I even made my envelope with my Simply Scored diagonal plate. I hate that SU got rid of their square envies, but at least I can make my own now.

Hope everyone enjoys this card.

Faux metal

Hey again stampers! I had some cards left over from a previous workshop and decided to play around. I had made this monogram with the faux metal technique. I decided to make a flowerpot with it and add my flower made from the First Edition DSP. My leaves are punched from the blossom builder punch.

If you have never tried the faux metal before, it's super easy. Just cover a small piece of cs with Versamark ink and add a metallic embossing powder of your choice. For this one I used pewter. Heat it up until it melts. Let it cool for a min and then cover again with Versamark. Again add embossing powder and heat. While it is still hot. cover again with powder (no need to add ink this time), and heat again. Add a last layer of powder and heat. Ink a stamp of choice with versamark ink, and working quickly, stamp down into hot powder. Hold for about 30 seconds and remove. You will have an awesome impression.

Hopefully you will try this out. Just be careful and don't burn your fingers!!

Oh Hello Doily Card

Hey everyone! I actually have a card that I made for my card class a few weeks ago. I saw a card on Stampin' Connection by Nicole Tugrul and just loved it! I changed a few things but is the basic design.

The card base is 4 1/4 x 11 primrose petals cs scored at 5 1/2. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the front of card in the honeycomb embossing folder. The leaves are cut from the little leaves sizzlets and lucky limeade cs.

I used the thumping technique to stamp the doily. I inked the largest stamp from the Postage Due stamp set with lucky limeade ink. Then I took my primrose marker and thumped all over the stamp added color here and there. When I was happy with it, I huffed on it and stamped the doily.

I stamped the Oh Hello from the stamp set of the same name with primrose ink on a scrap of whisper white cs and cut it out with the small tag from Apothecary Accents framelits. The roses are from the rose ribbon in the Spring catalog. I just cut a few apart and rubbed them on the primrose ink pad for some color.

Pretty easy card but I really love it!

Two More Projects from Ustamp

Here are my second and third projects for the current Ustamp with Dawn and Friends. I fell in love with the Ronald McDonald set, Moving Forward, and wanted to make some cards using it. I also can't sew, but LOVE SU's fabrics. I decided to make a no-sew project that looks like I can sew!
